The Head Spin Zone

First let's see what the jury has to say. I'd like to offer a virtual handshake to the members of that jury. Thank you.


Next, let's see what the doctors are talking about. It's not just a few doctors, more like 124,000.


Now let's go to the dead guy. Just imagine that he was your brother, or cousin, or friend, or even a stranger if you are a thinker like me.


Ponder those three stories in succession for just a minute, or for as long as you need. Let the overall picture permeate your mind. It's f*cked up, ain't it?


The country is really, really messed up right now. Injustice outweighs justice in all too many instances. Despite what looks to be an insurmountable battle at times, we really aren't all that far away from what needs to be done.


Like this judge, perhaps we all need to start stepping outside of the box a bit more often. We would no longer be a prison society like we are now, and we'd all have a lot less blood on our hands. Just somethin' to think about. After all, it's on your dime and on your time. To violate rights, or to not violate rights? That is the question.

I'm not a big fan of many things that the FBI does. I've made that abundantly clear. I'd also like to make clear that I do recognize good things done by the goon squad. I can only hope that we see more stuff like this, and less stuff like pot incarcerations.

The Governor of Puerto Rico and 12 others have been indicted on campaign finance and election related crimes.


(1) Aníbal Acevedo Vilá, 48, of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is charged with conspiracy, false statements, wire fraud, federal program fraud, and tax crimes. Defendant Acevedo Vilá was Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 through 2005, and has been the Governor of Puerto Rico since 2005;


In February, Aníbal Acevedo Vilá endorsed Barack Obama.


How long will it take for Barry to denounce that endorsement?

Dear Representatives, Senators and Officers of the Law

Dear Representatives, Senators and Officers of the Law,


Hello, my name is Delling Balls, and I'd like to take a moment to thank you for your dedicated service to your respective communities. Since that moment has now passed, I'd like to take the opportunity to say that I am extremely discouraged by the lack of respect for personal rights and liberties present in this country and that I hold you directly responsible.


I would say that the pressures of dealing with so many people and so many laws on a daily basis must be tremendously stressful and must make it hard to do your job, but as I look at your actions I'm led to believe that you are OK with the way things are going. Your participation in the wrongs, or complacency towards righting the wrongs, is your compliance.


You continue to steal from and violate the rights of citizens that have not violated the rights or liberties of any other person. Until you begin to respect the personal rights and liberties of citizens, I am hereby forced to cease recognition of your authority to introduce, pass or enforce non-rights violating offenses.


I truly look forward to the day when we as a people can make actual progress toward living in a free and prosperous society. However I can no longer in good conscience agree to participate in the degradation of the society that we supposedly long to progress.


From this moment forward, until I am free, you will not be.

Will Ron Paul back a marijuana legalization bill put forth by Rep. Barney Frank?

Representative Barney Frank told Bill Maher on Friday night that as soon as he got back to work he would introduce a bill to legalize small amounts of marijuana.


While a bill like that would be a baby step in the large picture, advocates of marijuana legalization should be glad to see someone taking action on the matter. Now the question is, what other Representatives can help Mr. Frank get this bill passed? The first person that comes to mind is Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul.


Not only does Ron Paul have a history of opposing the draconian measures of criminalizing the plant, his signature on the bill would make it bipartisan and more palpable to the public. Dr. Paul has never had as larger audience than he has right now.


Frank told Maher that he'd call it the "Make Room for Serious Criminals" bill. He probably meant the title to be funny, but it couldn't be closer to the truth of what needs to happen.

5-5-5: Our Justice System is Broken

Three stories I've recently come across paint the picture of an American justice system that is horribly broken.


A young man is facing up to 5 years in prison for purportedly selling an entire two grams of marijuana.


A California doctor and lawyer couple just got sentenced to 5 years each for their role in a "medical marijuana" operation.


A Massachusetts man just got sentenced to 5 years for knowingly subscribing to and possessing sadistic and masochistic child pornography.


According to our justice system, pot and sadistic child porn are nearly equivalent offenses.


To anyone with even half a brain, I hope that some alarm bells are ringin' up there.


This our justice system and I, for one, cannot tolerate such injustices any longer.


The American people seem aware of these things, but just don't care. Why else would they rush to continue to fund such injustice? And these are the same people that I'm supposed to let pick a supreme dictator to rule over me? No thanks.

NASA Satellite Detects Naked-Eye Explosion Halfway Across Universe


A powerful stellar explosion detected March 19 by NASA's Swift satellite has shattered the record for the most distant object that could be seen with the naked eye.


The explosion was a gamma ray burst. Most gamma ray bursts occur when
massive stars run out of nuclear fuel. Their cores collapse to form black
holes or neutron stars, releasing an intense burst of high-energy gamma
rays and ejecting particle jets that rip through space at nearly the speed
of light like turbocharged cosmic blowtorches. When the jets plow into
surrounding interstellar clouds, they heat the gas, often generating bright
afterglows. Gamma ray bursts are the most luminous explosions in the
universe since the big bang.


"This burst was a whopper," said Swift principal investigator Neil
Gehrels of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "It blows
away every gamma ray burst we've seen so far."

Ron Paul to speak at Nevada Republican Convention


Republican congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has accepted an invitation from the Nevada Republican Party to be a keynote speaker at the Nevada Republican State Convention on April 26th. The Texas congressman came in second place in the presidential preference poll held on January 19th in Nevada, and continues to enjoy fervent support among many Republicans in the Silver State.


“Dr. Paul’s visit to the Nevada Republican Party State Convention reflects Dr. Paul’s continued commitment to the presidential race and to the traditional conservative movement in the Republican Party,” said Jennifer Terhune, Nevada communications coordinator for the Ron Paul campaign. “Throughout this election cycle, Dr. Paul has recognized the important role Nevada can play in the selection of a presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention in September.”


The Nevada Republican Party State Convention will be held on Saturday, April 26th, in the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno. Guests and media are welcome to attend.

It is our right and duty to abolish tyrannical government

Some folks say that the Preamble of the Constitution of the United States is worthless. I couldn't disagree more. Not only does the Preamble put the entire document in context both philosophically and grammatically, it defines the base of all government powers.


We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.


The efforts of honest officers of the law, from local to national levels, are strained by a multitude non-rights violating, victimless crimes that they must enforce. The enforcement of said crimes undermines the Union between States, disgraces Justice, insures domestic strife, depletes the common defense, promotes poverty, and secures the destruction of Liberty.


As for the military-industrial complex that has helped lead the way in the ruination of this country, notice the only noun that the Framers left uncapitalized - defence.

Police pursue anti-government 'John Adams' blogger

Police in Whitewater, Wisconsin are in pursuit of a radical anti-government blogger. The blogger in question goes by the nickname 'John Adams' and runs the website www.freewhitewater.com.


"I think it is someone we want to keep an eye on...," Whitewater Police Detective Tina Winger wrote in an e-mail to Coan. "Seems like an anti-government radical to me."


The anonymous Adams charges that Whitewater city government is run by "a small, obstinate, and poorly educated local elite". Adams also criticizes a local judge that was convicted of lewd behavior, and the Whitewater police chief, James Coan.


Adams pits his case against the police chief by presenting evidence that the chief used city employees and resources to trace the anonymous blogger. The blogger also charges that the chief failed to address the destruction of evidence by former investigator.


So far they've used some questionable methods that have included harassing a man that swears he is not 'John Adams'. The man that Whitewater police have harassed is Laird Scott, a former Peace Corps worker.


There are many folks out there that have legitimate claims against the government. I just wish that they didn't have to fight anonymously.


An ironic twist to this whole 'John Adams' blogger deal, John Adams was known for supposedly trying to stifle criticism with the Alien and Sedition Acts.

Bush admits economy has slowed, says gov't recognized problems early

Today President Bush gave a radio address to the nation in which he admitted that the growth of the economy has definitely slowed.


"On Friday, I traveled to New York City to talk about the state of our economy. This is a topic that has been a source of concern for families across America. In the long run, we can be confident that our economy will continue to grow, but in the short run, it is clear that growth has slowed.

"Fortunately, we recognized this slowdown early, and took action to give our economy a shot in the arm."

I've yet to see a shot in the arm stop a slowdown. Usually it takes a rabbit chase or a swift kick in the rear.

Corrupt cop heads to prison

A former police officer in North Carolina is heading to prison for civil rights violations. The cop targeted Hispanics, took their entire wallet, and then returned it short of cash. We can't have people like that with badges.

Sadly, a case like this is far from an isolated incident. Abuse of power by law enforcement happens daily all across the world. Victims are often afraid to come forward because it's like reporting a crime to the same people that did the crime.

The duty rests upon the good cops, and those that pay the salary of all law enforcement officers, to weed out the bad.

What draws control freaks and people of bad nature to law enforcment positions? I suppose the ability to do these things to citizens and not get caught is a reason that some may choose to be a cop, but I think the overall problem is much different than that.

To put it bluntly, there are too many fucking cops and they have too many fucking non-rights violating laws to enforce. On top of that, most of them don't get paid for shit.
